Happitap Capture
Privacy Policy
1. Information the extension handles
- Connection information: your hosted workspace address, API token and granted permission scopes. The token is sent to your chosen HTTPS Happitap workspace to authenticate requests and retrieve permitted custom-field definitions.
- Page information: only when you click Read this page, the current page title and address, selected text (up to 2,000 characters), and visible email and phone links. The extension does not continuously monitor websites or read your general browsing history.
- Reviewed form information: record type, name, email, phone, company domain and website where applicable, notes, source URL, page title and any custom-field values you provide. Notes and custom fields may contain additional personal information you choose to enter.
- Service and security information: a request identifier and review confirmation accompany capture requests. The service retains retry metadata consisting of the actor, request identifier, payload hash and record reference. Servers may also process IP addresses, request times and technical error information to operate and protect the service.
2. When information is sent and how it is used
Reading a page fills the local form. After you review the form and select the consent checkbox, both Check for duplicates and Save send the entire reviewed form to your connected Happitap workspace. Source URL query parameters and fragments are removed; the remaining URL path, page title, notes and custom fields are still included.
We use this information to authenticate your access, load permitted field definitions, find matching records, save the record you request, prevent duplicate retries and maintain the security and operation of these features. Saved records are available to people with access in your workspace. The extension does not send automatic messages or perform background crawling.
3. Sharing and limited use
Information is processed by Pinetech IT Solutions Pvt Ltd and the infrastructure providers needed to operate Happitap, including DigitalOcean hosting. Processing may occur outside your country. We disclose information only as needed to provide the requested features, protect security, or comply with applicable law. If you separately enable other workspace integrations or grant access to other users, those choices may make saved records available to them.
Our use and transfer of information received through Happitap Capture adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We do not sell this information, use or transfer it for personalized advertising or unrelated purposes, or use it to determine creditworthiness or lending eligibility.
Human access to captured content is limited to your authorized workspace use, access with your consent for a specific purpose such as support, security investigations, or legal obligations. The extension contains no advertising or analytics integration and does not send captured content to advertising or analytics services.
4. Storage and retention
Your API token, workspace address and scopes stay in Chrome session storage, not synced storage. Disconnect clears the connection from the extension. Restarting the browser requires reconnecting. Unsaved form details are not persisted when the popup closes.
Saved records remain in your workspace until removed through workspace controls or a verified deletion request, subject to operational or legal retention needs. Uninstalling the extension does not delete saved records. Capture retry metadata has no automatic expiry in the current service and remains until removed through service administration or a verified deletion request.
Backups are separate from active records. Scheduled backups retain the seven most recent completed snapshots; separate recovery snapshots may remain for operational recovery. Deleting an active record does not instantly remove backup copies. Contact us about deletion so we can assess active records, retained copies and any legal retention requirements together. We do not promise immediate erasure of every retained copy.
5. Your choices and requests
You can choose when to read a page, edit or remove information before sending it, disconnect the extension and revoke your token in Happitap's API & MCP access settings. Use a dedicated expiring token with only the permissions you need. Capture only information you are authorized to process; avoid entering unnecessary sensitive information.
To request access, correction or deletion, or to raise a privacy concern, contact your workspace administrator or email hello@happitap.com. Identify the workspace and the information concerned, but do not email passwords or API tokens. We may ask for information to verify your identity or authority to act for the workspace before handling the request.
6. Security and permissions
The extension restricts API connections to hosted Happitap tenant addresses over HTTPS. It uses activeTab and scripting to read the current page only after your action, and storage to keep the connection for the browser session. It does not expose its session token to website scripts. Keep your token private; revocation prevents future authorized requests but does not recall records already saved.
7. Changes and contact
We will update this page and its effective date when these practices change. For questions about Happitap Capture or this policy, contact Pinetech IT Solutions Pvt Ltd at hello@happitap.com.
